熊本伝統工芸館
At the Kumamoto traditional crafts museum
we doth see different sorts of traditional items, Kumamoto manufactured. The
most interesting item my eye did see was that of a tengu, when one pulled the
string, the eyes would roll back and a tongue would come hence forth.
The sun did burneth thy skin.
菊池渓谷
Kikuchi gorge was
a very picturesque place. The sun was shining and the leaves in the trees
glistened as patches of the sun illuminated the floor with specks of gold.
As if in a dream,
the water could reflect my being. Sitting near the waterfall I felt a sense of
being at one with nature. No better a time than to become one and centered with
the universe.
The water called
for me to enter it but alas, I had to quell the desire to drench my feet in the
refreshing, cool stream, for I was wearing socks, and I couldn`t muster the
strength to walk on hot stone, waiting an eternity for my feet to finally
become once again dry.
However, as we
continued on my friends and I came to a small water filled crevice quite a
distance away from the stream. In that crevice was an entire population of
small black tadpoles.
Feeding on a
golden leaf that had fell from its once former great height from a nearby tree.
Once again reminding me of the impermanence of everything and how the cycle of
life is that of death and life.
The
forest was also home to a great deal of earth sprites and spirits. Their voices
could be heard in the whispers of the wind, their presence ever around us and
as if taking our hand and guiding us through the narrow, winding, glistening
paths. Although unable to see them, their friendliness and warmth was well received.
Finally, as we
were guided out of the forest and the gorge a great slumber did wash over all
of us. Nature had done it`s work and we were to sleep, travelling home, never
forgetting the blessed kikuchi gorge.

Poutine is the name,
Fries and cheese In the game,
Get that gravy and pour it all,
Put it your mouth and it`s a score!
Chinese pancake,
it`s name is bin
Make a dough and
throw spring onions in,
Fry it all, eat it
quick,
If its not cooked
right you might get sick!
American sliders in the mix,
Meat in the oven
that`s the trick
Slide some cheese
on the top,
Have 4 million and
you will pop.
Spaghetti was also
in the list,
No one Italian they
might feel dissed,
The swirly whirly
tangy taste,
Makes you wanna
eat it in a haste.
Food Parlour
We went to Food Parlor in Kumamoto to see a
bread factory and eat some tasty food. The area contained a number of food and
tourism facilities; in addition to bread there were also wine and sweets
factories, meeting halls and restaurants.
The place we visited had an all-you-can-eat
buffet of bread and sweets. Despite the selection being limited, I think we all
enjoyed it and got very full.
Outside of the bread factory, there was a flea
market, and a display of seasonal roses and flowers. We had a look around, and
bargained for some interesting items. Overall it was a nice experience!
Kikuchi Keikoku
We went to Kikuchi
Gorge on a nice sunny day. The bus ride was a little bit long and winding, but
the beauty of the place was worth the trip. It was cool and refreshing there,
and the waterfalls and rock formations were beautiful.
Everyone had fun cooling off
their feet in the water and basking in the sun.
Kyudo
We went to learn about traditional Japanese
archery, Kyudo. We watched a demonstration first by the Kyudo club members. It
seems like an interesting combination of contemplative art and martial art.
Then, we split into groups and got hands-on explanations
of the tools used in Kyudo, and got to try out the bows for ourselves. Some
people were naturals at kyudo, while others, like myself, had a harder time!

最初はワンジンさんだと思った。本当に似ている。
コップを作ったあと、満足しているワンジンさん、ヒサエ、ソンヒ。
熊本伝統工芸館ではいろんな小物を見たけどその中でいちばん気に入ったのは竜の木像だった。それはとってもかわいい竜の姿をしていたけど２万円以上だったので買うことができなかった。本当に残念. . .
弓道部員の協力のおかげで楽しい時をすごした私たち。
みんな上達しようと頑張ったけど数回で上達するのはやっぱり無理だった。
みんなもっと上手くできなかったことがとっても悔しがった。
プードパルでみた花なんだけど白い貴婦人は本当にきれいな花だった。
写真はビンゴメイランドだけど．．．
